Liam Reid is serving a 23-year non-parole sentence for the rape and murder of deaf woman Emma Agnew in Christchurch, New Zealand in 2007.
Reid was also convicted of the rape, attempted murder and robbery of a 21-year-old woman in Dunedin just nine days later.
He is attempting to block television company South Pacific Pictures from making an episode of the television show Forensics NZ about his murder of Ms Agnew, the New Zealand Herald reported.
